This photograph crops up from time to time when one surfs the Internet.  It also features on the last page of "Liverpool and the Battle of the Atlantic 1939-45".

It shows Admiral Sir Max Horton boarding U532 and being saluted by the submarine's commanding officer - U532 surrendered at Liverpool on 17 May 1945 - this photograph was apparently taken the following day. 

The photograph features here because if you look at the top of the photograph you will see HMS Rushen Castle's stern (as identified by her number).
