New light shed on Weather Surveyor's Demise

The Times, 22 December 1961

The Times had the following item in its "News in Brief" on 22 December 1961:

"NEW WEATHER SHIP - The former Castle class frigate Rushen Castle was commissioned at Greenock yesterday as an Ocean Weather ship for the Air Ministry. She was renamed Weather Surveyor by Provost John Reid of Greenock."
