Below the photograph it reads, "Born 1912 in Surbiton, Surrey, Colin Warwick always desired to become a master mariner. He left Pangbourne College as a cadet Captain to become an Indentured Cadet with the Royal Mail Steam Packet Company to learn the duties of a seaman and a ship's officer.
"World War II found him working as a junior partner with the Wallace Attwood group of management and industrial consultants, engaged in essential war production work. He resigned to become a Sub-Lieutenant RNR and Commanding Officer of an anti-submarine escort vessel whose RNPS crew and their officers earned three DSC's and six DSM's in the 1940 Norwegian operations. Later in the Battle of the Atlantic, destruction of five U-Boats earned three additional DSM's, three Mentions in Despatches, and a bar to the DSC.
"On leave from his ship between convoys, when promoted to Lieutenant Commander, he worked with the Admiralty Press Division visiting Royal Navy suppliers, and made two broadcasts for the BBC Overseas Programmes. Later he pursued a very successful career as an international marketing consultant based in Washington."
