Norman Goodwin, Archivist of the Castle Class Corvette (Frigate) Association (and a former First Lieutenant of HMS Allington Castle), has had a long struggle to get this book published - the moment has come and it is available for purchase for £35 from Maritime Books, Lodge Hill, Liskeard, PL14 4EL - Telephone Number: 01579 343663 - Website: www.navybooks.com.

This 530 page book is beautifully produced and lavishly illustrated - it offers an invaluable source of reference for those of us who did not serve on these ships but are nevertheless interested in them.  For those who did serve on Castle Class Corvettes I have no doubt the book will revive memories of those times.  In addition to a brief history for each ship in the class (including the Canadian Castles), the book explains the equipment carried by Castle Class Corvettes and the tactics they employed in carrying out their duties.

This book is a definite "must have" for anyone reading the pages of this website who would like some understanding of the technical/tactical references in the Reports of Proceedings I have transcribed.

Many congratulations to Norman Goodwin, the Castle Class Corvette (Frigate) Association and Maritime Books.
